Observing ObserveIT: Learnings from the Collegiate Pen Testing Competition

On-Demand Webinar

About this webinar

The Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) is a capture the flag style event that provides a vehicle for up and coming cybersecurity student teams to effectively discover, triage, and mitigate critical security vulnerabilities in a real-world environment. This year, ObserveIT was asked to donate a 90-day license to use as part of the competition.

Participants Colum McGaley of Indeed.com and Tom Kopchak of Hurricane Labs were asked to complete a seemingly simple task as part of this year’s competition: monitor a couple of endpoints.

Watch the recording of our live webinar where Colum and Tom take us through their experience using ObserveIT – from initial setup to detecting suspicious user activity and investigating incidents.

You will learn

  • How the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) works
  • What the scope of the scenario was
  • How ObserveIT’s insider threat management software impacted the competition
